Nature:
1. Appearance: Colorless transparent liquid
2. Solubility: easily soluble in various organic solvents
Usage:
1. As a solvent, octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane is commonly used as a solvent in organic synthesis processes and can dissolve many organic substances.
2. Adhesive: plays a role as an adhesive in adhesives and sealants.
3. Lubricant: Used as an additive in lubricating oil, grease, and lubricants to improve the friction performance between friction surfaces.
4. Surface treatment agent: used as a rust inhibitor and surface lubricant in metal processing.
Method:
Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane is mainly prepared through organosilicon chemical synthesis methods, usually involving addition reactions and cyclization reactions of silicon hydrogen compounds.
Security information:
1. Low skin irritation, but may cause eye and respiratory irritation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes when using.
2. Good ventilation conditions should be maintained during use to avoid inhaling its vapors.
3. If accidentally touching the skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical help if necessary.
4. Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from sources of fire and oxidants.
5. When using, safety operating procedures should be followed and appropriate protective equipment should be worn.

use this product is an intermediate of silicone oil and silicone rubber.
Use as a raw material for silicone, and also used in the electronics industry
Uses are used to manufacture high-tear-resistant silicone rubber products, and also used to synthesize other polymer compounds
Uses Used as an intermediate for preparing silicone oil, and also used for insulation and moisture resistance of radio parts
production method: dimethyldichlorosilane is added into water dropwise, the temperature is maintained at 30-40 ℃, stratified, acid water is removed, oil is hydrolyzed with sodium hydroxide solution, hydrolysate and 0.5%-2% potassium hydroxide are added into the cracking kettle, and cracking is carried out at 120-140 ℃ and 99.8kPa vacuum. The lysate is fractionated and the fraction at 173-176 degrees C is collected to obtain octamethylcyclosilane.
