Abstract:

isooctanoate was synthesized from isooctanoic acid and isooctanol using p-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst. The effects of molar ratio of alcohol to acid, amount of catalyst, reaction time and amount of water-carrying agent on the conversion of ISO-octanoic acid were investigated and optimized by orthogonal test. The optimum reaction conditions were obtained as follows: n (isooctyl alcohol: n (isooctanoic acid) = 2.0:1, p-toluenesulfonic acid was 7% of the total mass of reactants, and the reaction time was 4.5h, the reaction temperature was 145-174 ℃. Under these conditions, the conversion of isooctanoic acid was 92.37%, and the content of isooctanoic acid isooctyl Ester was 94.78% by GC.

Abstract:

isooctyl isooctanoate (EH) has low viscosity and low surface tension, so it is easy to spread on the skin and easily absorbed by the skin. It can be used to improve, overcome the greasy feeling of general cosmetics, and prepare light and non-greasy skin care products. EH can maintain low viscosity at low temperature, suitable for winter cosmetics. Can be dissolved in alcohol water system, so that it is suitable for the preparation of transparent alcohol water system products.
