In vitro study | Solifenacin succinate is a novel muscarinic receptor antagonist for the treatment of overactive bladder. The affinity constants of Solifenacin for recombinant human muscarinic receptors M1, M2 and M3 are 7.6, 6.9 and 8.0, respectively. Therefore, the selectivity for muscarinic receptor M3 subtype is significantly higher than that for M2 subtype, but only slightly higher than the M1 subtype. The same study also showed that bladder smooth muscle cells isolated from guinea pigs and submandibular gland cells isolated from mice, the combination of Solifenacin and oxybutynin can inhibit the mobilization of intracellular calcium ions mediated by muscarinic receptor M3. |
