Carnallite is one of the widely distributed potash minerals. Orthorhombic crystal system, the crystal is pseudo-hexagonal double cone, but very rare, usually granular, dense block or fibrous assembly. Pure colorless or white, often containing impurities and red, rose, yellow. The fresh cross-section was glassy gloss, and quickly deliquescent darkened in the air to oil gloss. Hardness 2~3, density 1.6g/cm3. Fluorescence. Soluble in water, the dissolution of a special Broken Sound. Highly hygroscopic, easily deliquescent in the air. Non-conductive. KC1 precipitates after decomposition in alcohol and glycerol.
