3-[Methoxy (dimer) silyl]propan-1-amine is an organosilicon compound with the chemical formula C7H19NOSi.

Nature:
-Appearance: 3-[Methoxy(dimethyl)silyl]propan-1-amine is a colorless or pale yellow liquid.
-Solubility: It can be dissolved in organic solvents, such as ethanol, acetone and dimethylformamide.

Use:
3-[Methoxy(dimethyl)silyl]propan-1-amine has good chemical stability and low toxicity, and is commonly used in the following fields:
-Surfactant: As a surfactant, 3-[Methoxy (dimer) silyl]propan-1-amine can be used to increase the dispersibility of pigments, fillers and coatings.
-Penetrant: 3-[Methoxy (dimer) silyl]propan-1-amine can be used as a penetrant to improve the permeability and adhesion of dyes, coatings and adhesives.
-Cosmetics: It can also be used as lubricants, softeners and thickeners in cosmetics.

Method:
The preparation of 3-[Methoxy(dimethyl)silyl]propan-1-amine can be obtained by a three-step reaction:
1. Methyldichlorosilane reacts with methanol to generate methoxymethyldichlorosilane.
2. Methoxymethyldichlorosilane reacts with propionaldehyde to generate methoxymethylpropanol dichlorosilane.
3. Reacting methoxymethylpropanoldichlorosilane with ammonia to generate 3-[Methoxy(dimethyl)silyl]propan-1-amine.
