(II) DIMER is an organic complex containing ruthenium metal with the chemical formula Ru(CO)2(η ^ 5-C5H5)2. The following is a description of its nature, use, preparation and safety information:
Nature:
-Appearance: Red solid
-Solubility: Soluble in polar solvents such as Alcohols, Ketones and chlorides
-Stability: Stable in air, but its solubility is limited
Use:
-catalyst: (II) DIMER is an important catalyst for a variety of organic synthesis reactions, such as chiral drug synthesis, polymerization of dienes and carbonylation reactions.
-Research: It can also be used as a model compound for studying metal organic chemistry and organic synthesis methodology.
Method:
(II) DIMER can be synthesized by the following steps:
1. The reaction of cyclopentadiene and carbonyl ammonium (Fischer base) with ammonium perchlorate to form metal tricarbonyl complexes.
2. Sodium acetovinyl alcohol acid salt removes one carbonyl group of tricarbonyl complex.
3. Finally add Agar and hydrogen chloride to obtain (II) DIMER.
Safety Information:
-(II) DIMER should be operated under suitable laboratory conditions.
-May be irritating to eyes, skin and respiratory tract in powder form.
-Appropriate protective measures, such as wearing protective glasses, gloves and respiratory protective equipment, should be taken during contact or inhalation.
