Molecular FormulaC2H3F
Molar Mass46.04
Density0,615 g/cm3
Melting Point-160,5°C
Boling Point-72°C
Refractive Index1.34
Physical and Chemical PropertiesChemical properties: colorless combustible gas at room temperature and pressure. It has an ether flavor. Freezing point -162 ℃, boiling point -72.2 ℃(-15 ℃,-66 ℃), relative density 0.835(-72.2/4 ℃), critical temperature 54.7 ℃, monitoring pressure 5.1MPa, critical density 0.320g/cm3. Can be added with bromine hydrogen halide. It is also easy to copolymerize with olefins, fluoroolefins, styrene, etc. The auto-ignition limit is 2.6%-27.1% (volume). Soluble in acetone, ethanol. The burning flame is green and easy to aggregate.
UseMainly used for the production of poly (vinyl fluoride), poly (vinyl fluoride) is the lowest fluorine content in fluorine plastic, the relative density of the smallest products. It is also used in the synthesis of other resins. It can also be used as chemical anti-corrosion coating, lining, capacitor film, food packaging container surface flour coating, etc.

vinylfluoride(vf) - Uses and synthesis methods

production method

It is obtained by the reaction of acetylene and anhydrous hydrogen fluoride. After being purified by potassium dichromate, the acetylene dried by solid alkali and silica gel is mixed with anhydrous hydrogen fluoride, and poured into a reaction tube with aluminum fluoride catalyst to maintain the reaction at 250-350 ℃ (the reaction temperature increases with the decrease of catalyst activity). The gas flowing out of the reactor is cooled and washed with water to remove unreacted hydrogen fluoride, and then passed through the heated copper oxide catalyst layer to remove unreacted acetylene. At this time, in addition to fluoroethylene, the gas product also contains difluoroethane and trace amounts of acetylene, ethylene and non-condensable gases. Another method is to catalyze the addition of vinyl chloride and hydrogen fluoride to obtain 1, 1-fluorochloroethane, and then dehydrochlorinate to obtain fluoroethylene.
