NDCT - Introduction
NDCT(1,4-diisocyanatobenzene) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C9H6N2O2.
Nature:
NDCT is a colorless to light yellow liquid with a pungent odor. It is soluble in common organic solvents such as ethanol, dimethylformamide and ethyl acetate. At low temperatures, NDCT can solidify into colorless crystals.
Use:
NDCT is an important organic synthesis intermediate, which has a wide range of applications in the fields of polymers, fluorescent dyes, photosensitive materials and so on. It can be used for the synthesis of polyamide, Polyether, polyester, polyurethane and other polymer materials. NDCT can also be used as a photosensitizer, such as the preparation of photosensitive film and photosensitive paper.
Preparation Method:
The preparation method of NDCT is relatively simple, and it is generally obtained by the reaction of 1,4-diaminobenzene and dicarbonyl chloride. The specific step is to first dissolve 1,4-diaminobenzene in a sodium carbonate solution, and then add dilute hydrochloric acid to precipitate it to form 1,4-diaminobenzene hydrochloride. The 1,4-diaminobenzene hydrochloride was then reacted with dicarbyl chloride to give the NDCT.
Safety Information:
NDCT needs to be safe during preparation and use. It may be irritating to the skin and eyes, so wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves, goggles and protective clothing during operation. At the same time, it should be operated in a well-ventilated place to avoid inhaling its vapor. If you accidentally encounter skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical help. In addition, the NDCT is a flammable liquid and should be stored away from ignition and heat sources and keep the container sealed.
