Glutine - Introduction
Glutinone, also known as 4-Hydroxy-4-methylpentanone (4-Hydroxy-4-methylpentanone), is an organic compound. It is a colorless liquid with a special smell. Glutinone is soluble in water and a variety of organic solvents.
Glutinone is mainly used as a chemical reagent and is widely used in organic synthesis. It can be used as an alcoholysis agent for aldehydes, ketones and esters, as well as for reaction solvents, reducing agents, dehydrating agents, and intermediates for dyes and resins. In addition, it is also used in the fields of medicine, paint, fragrance and rubber industry.
There are two main methods for preparing Glutinone. One is made by alcoholysis of pentanol, which reacts with hydrogen peroxide to produce Glutinone. The other is prepared by the epoxy opening reaction of epoxy pentane, which reacts with water to produce the target product.
Regarding safety information, Glutinone is generally a low-toxic substance under normal conditions of use. However, as a chemical, some safety measures still need to be paid attention. Glutinone is irritating, and contact with the skin and eyes may cause irritation and eye pain. Therefore, use appropriate personal protective equipment to avoid contact with skin, eyes and respiratory tract. In addition, attention should be paid to fire prevention measures during storage and handling. If there is accidental contact or eating, should be timely medical treatment. To ensure safe use, please read the product's safety data sheet and operating instructions carefully.
