biological activity | calcycin hemicalium salt (A-23187 hemicalium salt) it is an antibiotic and a unique divalent cation ionophore, such as calcium and magnesium ions. Calcycin hemicalum salt induces Ca2 dependent cell death by increasing intracellular calcium concentration. Calcycin hemicalum salt inhibits the growth of gram-positive bacteria and some fungi, and also inhibits the activity of ATPase and decouples oxidative phosphorylation of mammalian cells, inducing apoptosis. |
Animal Model: | Mice (ICR, 25-30 g) |
Dosage: | 2.5 or 7.5 nM |
Administration: | Intrapleurally |
Result: | Two hours after 2.5 nM, or 3 hours after 7.5 nM, challenge the protein levels in the pleural cavity were equivalent to about a half of their corresponding peak values. |
Use | the highly selective calcium ionophore enhances the response to NMDA non-nitrosamine. In cell culture, the production of nitric oxide is stimulated by calmodulin-dependent constitutive nitric oxide synthase. |
