9-Methyldecan-1-ol - Introduction
9-Methyldecan-1-ol is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH3(CH2)8CH(OH)CH2CH3. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a pungent odor.
9-Methyldecan-1-ol is mainly used as a fragrance and additive, and is commonly used in personal care products, detergents and cosmetics to give it a burst of fragrance. In addition, it can also be used to synthesize other organic compounds, such as surfactants and solvents.
The preparation method of 9-Methyldecan-1-ol can be carried out by a method of dehydrogenation of undecanol. Specifically, it can be prepared by reacting undecanol with sodium bisulfite (NaHSO3) under high temperature conditions.
Regarding safety information, 9-Methyldecan-1-ol is generally a low-toxic compound under normal use conditions, but protective measures still need to be paid attention.
