2. 2-(dimethylamino) acetophenone and 2-methyl acetone are subjected to amidation reaction under alkaline conditions to obtain 2-(dimethylamino) quinoline -3-methyl ketone.
3. 2-(Dimethylamino) quinoline-3-methanone is reduced with NaBH4 in alcohol solvent to form quinoline.
