68299-18-3 - Introduction
p,p'-(1,1,3-trimethylpropane-1,3-diyl)diphenol, didehydro derivative (abbreviated as DPPD) is a compound with the chemical formula C23H26O2.
Nature:
DPPD is a yellow to brown solid with a high melting and boiling point. It is insoluble in water at normal temperature, but soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers and aromatic hydrocarbons.
Use:
DPPD is mainly used as an antioxidant for rubber and rubber products. It can effectively delay the aging process of rubber and rubber products, improve its heat resistance, and extend its service life.
Preparation Method:
The synthesis of DPPD is usually achieved through a series of chemical reactions. A common method is to use two phenol molecules to build the central architecture and introduce an ENE single bond through a two-charge saddle reaction. In this way the backbone structure of DPPD can be obtained and the desired functionalized derivative can be obtained by further reaction under appropriate conditions.
Safety Information:
DPPD can be harmful to human health in contact with the skin, after inhalation and ingestion. When in contact with the skin, it may cause allergic reactions and irritation. May have adverse effects on the lungs and digestive system after inhalation or ingestion. Therefore, direct contact with skin, inhalation or ingestion should be avoided during use. If necessary, wear appropriate protective equipment and ensure that you operate in a well-ventilated area.
