481-91-4 - Introduction
1,1 '-binaphthyl-4,4'-ylenediamine(1,1 '-binaphthyl-4,4'-diamine) is an organic compound with the formula C20H16N2. It is a white crystalline solid, insoluble in water at room temperature, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and chloroform.
1,1 '-binaphthyl-4,4'-ylenediamine is a chiral compound with high optical activity. It is widely used in the synthesis of catalysts and drugs in organic synthesis, especially plays an important catalytic role in asymmetric synthesis. 1,1 '-binaphthyl-4,4'-ylenediamine can form a chiral ligand and cooperate with transition metals to form a chiral catalyst for asymmetric reduction, asymmetric oxidation and asymmetric addition reactions. In addition, 1,1 '-binaphthyl-4,4'-ylenediamine is also used in the preparation of chiral intermediates in drug synthesis, such as the synthesis of the chiral drugs ibuprofen and etalin.
1,1 '-binaphthyl-4,4'-ylenediamine is prepared by a variety of methods, and the commonly used method is to prepare by the heating reaction of binaphthalene and ammonia. Binaphthalene and ammonia are placed in a reaction flask and reacted at high temperature to form 1,1 '-binaphthyl-4,4'-ylenediamine.
1,1 '-binaphthyl-4,4'-ylenediamine need to pay attention to safety during use and storage. It is a flammable substance, avoid exposure to open flames and high temperatures. It is necessary to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, protective gloves and laboratory coats during operation. At the same time, 1,1 '-binaphthyl-4,4'-ylenediamine is irritating and may cause damage to the eyes, skin and respiratory tract, so it needs to be carefully protected. Avoid violent reactions with strong oxidants and strong acids. 1,1 '-binaphthyl-4,4'-ylenediamine should be stored in a dry, cool place, away from ignition and oxidizing agents.
