3-Isobutylglutarimide - Introduction
3-Isobutyl glutarimide is an organic compound with the chemical formula C9H17NO2, which is a yellow to brown crystal or solid.
Nature:
-Appearance: Yellow to brown crystal or solid
-Melting point: about 95-98°C
-Boiling point: approximately 334°C
-Solubility: Soluble in hot alcohols, ketones and acids, slightly soluble in water
Use:
- 3-Isobutyl glutarimide can be used as inhibitors, melting point depressants and expandable reference substances
-In chemical research, it can be used as an intermediate and reagent for organic synthesis
-Can be used as an additive in the preparation of certain polymers and polyamide materials
Method:
3-Isobutyl glutarimide can generally be prepared by the following steps:
1. React glutarimide and isobutanol in a round bottom flask
2. Heat and stir at an appropriate temperature
3. distillation and rectification of the reaction mixture to obtain the target product 3-Isoputyl glutarimide
Safety Information:
- 3-Isobutyl glutarimide may be irritating and corrosive to the eyes and skin, and should be rinsed with water immediately upon contact.
-When used in the workplace, appropriate protective measures should be taken, such as wearing protective gloves, glasses and or respirators.
-Store away from fire and oxidizing agents, and keep the container tightly closed.
