Fmoc-(S)-3-Amino-4-(2-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-butyric acid is mainly used in solid phase synthesis in organic synthesis to synthesize peptides and proteins. It is a common protecting group, which can protect the amino group in the process of peptide synthesis, so as to avoid unnecessary reaction and facilitate the subsequent reaction.
The preparation of this compound can be completed by a multi-step reaction. First, Fmoc-alanine is reacted with 2-trifluoromethylphenone to produce Fmoc-4-(2-trifluoromethylphenyl) acetone. This compound was then converted to Fmoc-4-(2-trifluoromethylphenyl) butanoic acid by a reduction reaction. Finally, (-)-2-methylphenylethanol was reacted with Fmoc-4-(2-trifluoromethylphenyl) butyric acid by chiral synthesis to obtain the target product.
Regarding safety information, Fmoc-(S)-3-Amino-4-(2-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-butyric acid should pay attention to the following when using:
1. may cause irritation to the eyes, skin and respiratory tract, and has sensitization.
2. use should wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as gloves, protective glasses and protective clothing.
3. avoid inhaling the smell of dust or solution. Use chemical ventilation equipment or maintain good ventilation conditions during operation.
4. avoid contact with strong oxidants. Avoid mixing with strong acids and strong bases.
5. In case of inadvertent contact with the compound, immediately flush the affected area with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
When using this compound, please follow the laboratory safety procedures, and properly store and dispose of the compound to avoid harm to humans and the environment.
