210169-40-7 - Risk and Safety
210169-40-7 - Introduction
Nature:
(S)-BINAP is a solid, white crystal at room temperature. It has good solubility in ethanol and ether. The compounds are asymmetric with two chiral centers and are stereoisomers. Its chirality is mainly characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) and circular dichroism (CD).
Use:
(S)-BINAP is mainly used in the field of chiral synthesis. In organic synthesis, it is often used as a ligand, with the transition metal to generate chiral catalysts. These chiral catalysts are widely used in asymmetric hydrogenation, asymmetric disproportionation, asymmetric alcoholization, asymmetric nucleophilic substitution and so on. It also plays an important role in asymmetric catalytic reactions of pharmaceutical synthesis and pesticide synthesis.
Preparation Method:
The preparation of (S)-BINAP is generally accomplished by a multi-step reaction. The key step is usually to obtain (S)-BINAP by condensation reaction of bis (3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-methoxyphenyl) phosphine and 4,4 '-di-1, 3-benzodioxopentanone followed by reduction.
Safety Information:
(S)-BINAP is not currently recognized as being significantly toxic or dangerous. However, it is still necessary to take appropriate safety measures when using or handling the compound, such as wearing protective gloves, face masks and protective glasses. Should be stored in a cool, dry place, and away from fire and oxidizing agents. When handling the compound, avoid inhalation or contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If inhaled, the patient should be quickly moved to fresh air, and immediately seek medical attention.
