2-(3-Bromophenyl)-5-(trichloromethyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole - Introduction

2-(3-Bromophenyl)-5-(trichloromethyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole is an organic compound often abbreviated as BOBD or 3-Bromophenyl -5-(trichloromethyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole.

Nature:
1. Appearance: BOBD is colorless to light yellow crystal or powder.
2. Solubility: Soluble in common organic solvents, such as ethanol, dimethylformamide and carbon disulfide.
3. melting point: the melting point of BOBD is about 120-124 ℃.

Use:
BOBD has a wide range of applications in organic synthesis:
1. polycondensation agent: BOBD can be used as a polycondensation agent for the synthesis of polymers and polymer compounds.
2. light functional materials: BOBD can be used to prepare luminescent materials and fluorescent probes.
3. Biology: BOBD can also be used for biomarkers, such as fluorescent dyes and biosensors.

Preparation Method:
The preparation method of BOBD includes the following steps:
1. First, 3-bromophenylboronic acid or similar compounds are used as starting materials to introduce bromophenyl groups through aromatic substitution reactions.
2. Then, the obtained product is reacted with trichloromethyl isocyanate under alkaline conditions to produce BOBD.

Safety Information:
Pay attention to the following safety precautions when using BOBD:
1. BOBD can decompose at high temperature to produce toxic gases, so high temperature, fire source and open flame should be avoided.
2. BOBD is irritating and should be washed immediately when in contact with eyes, skin and respiratory tract. Appropriate protective equipment such as lab gloves, goggles and face shields should be worn during operation.
3. BOBD should be stored in a cool, dry place, and away from fire and oxidant.
