Target
NLRP3
in vitro studies
CORM-3 prevents reoxygenation and oxidative stress after hypoxia by promoting CO release in cardiomyocytes. In AW264.7 mouse macrophages, CORM-3 attenuates LPS-induced inflammatory response. CORM-3 also decouples mitochondrial respiration by interacting with phosphate carriers.
In vivo studies
CORM-3 (40 mg/kg, intraperitoneal injection) prolonged the survival of heart-transplanted mice and attenuated organ rejection in CBA mice transplanted with BALB/c heart. In a mouse model of collagen-induced arthritis, CORM-3 (20 mg/kg, intraperitoneal injection) reduced cell infiltration, joint inflammation and damage.
