| Use | Rosin pentaerythritol ester has the characteristics of large molecular weight, low acid value, high hardness and softening point. It is widely used as a pressure-sensitive adhesive, hot melt adhesive, etc., as well as a modifier for rubber and plastic. At present, zinc oxide or boric acid is mostly used in the industry as a catalyst to catalyze the esterification of rosin and pentaerythritol. The process has the problems of high reaction temperature, long reaction time and deep color of the product. In addition, in order to reduce the color of the product and improve the antioxidant properties of rosin pentaerythritol ester, additives such as heat stabilizers, antioxidants, light stabilizers and ultraviolet absorbers are often added in the preparation process. |

Modified rosin resin is a light-colored transparent solid made of rosin and glycerin or pentaerythritol ester. It has the advantages of high viscosity, good heat resistance and good polymer compatibility. It is an excellent tackifying resin. Rosin pentaerythritol ester is a kind of rosin modified product, which is obtained by the reaction of rosin and pentaerythritol. It is widely used in coatings, inks, adhesives, emulsions and other fields.
The main properties are soluble in cyclohexane, petroleum ether, toluene, xylene, ethyl acetate, acetone and other solvents; low odor, good oxidation resistance and thermal stability, strong adhesion. It can be miscible with various polymer EVA and other phases.
Application area
Rosin pentaerythritol ester is an irregular transparent flake solid with excellent heat resistance, aging resistance and good stability, good compatibility and solubility, good surface resistance and good color retention. It is polymerized with vegetable oil and applied to ester phenolic paint. It is mainly used for EVA hot melt adhesive, hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive, hot melt paint, ester adhesive, phenolic varnish, book binding adhesive, wood glue, etc., sanitary adhesive, structural adhesive, packaging adhesive, smoke adhesive, sealant, laminating adhesive, etc, adding hot melt adhesive, adhesive and self-adhesive can improve adhesion and reduce cost, and is widely used in adhesive industry.
preparation process: 100.0g rosin, 1.0g iron acetate catalyst and 20.0g pentaerythritol are put into a reaction kettle equipped with a stirrer, a thermometer, an oil-water separator and a vacuum system. after replacing the air in the reaction system with 200kPa nitrogen for 5 times, the vacuum system is turned on, the absolute pressure of the reaction system is controlled to be 30kPa, heated to 230 ℃, and stirred for 6 hours to obtain the product rosin pentaerythritol ester, the yield was 92.3%, the acid value was 20.3mgKOH/g, the softening point was 96.4 ℃, and the color was measured by Ghana. The yield of rosin pentaerythritol ester was the ratio of the mass of the product to the total mass of rosin and pentaerythritol.
Preparation method 1: Rosin pentaerythritol ester includes the following preparation steps:
A. vacuum distillation of 100kg of raw material rosin to obtain refined rosin;
B, in the stirring state, the refined rosin prepared by step a is put into a reaction kettle, 5kg of hydroquinone, 15kg of pentaerythritol and 0.02kg of cobalt acetate are added in sequence, then heated to 350 ℃ under vacuum pressure, stirred at constant temperature and reacted for 2 hours;
C, put the substance prepared in step B into a distillation tower, put anthraquinone 0.0001kg,4,4 '-thiobis (6-tert-butyl -3-methylphenol) 0.001kg, and then distill under vacuum pressure and heating to 200 ℃ to prepare rosin pentaerythritol ester.
Method 2: A preparation method of rosin pentaerythritol ester, including the following steps:
A. vacuum distillation of rosin to obtain refined rosin: where the vacuum degree is 0.5千帕 ~ 1千帕;
B. Add the refined rosin to the reaction vessel, sequentially add a catalyst, a water-carrying agent and pentaerythritol, and introduce ultrasonic waves into the reaction vessel. Under ultrasonic conditions, the esterification reaction takes 30 minutes to 45 minutes; wherein, the power of the ultrasonic wave is 1200 watts to 1300 watts; the catalyst is a mixture of zinc oxide and cobalt acetate; the water-carrying agent is xylene; the refined rosin, catalyst, the mass ratio of water-carrying agent to pentaerythritol is 1:0.01~0.02:0.3~0.5:0.2~0.45;
C. Distillation under reduced pressure and drying to obtain rosin pentaerythritol ester.
