White or transparent glass, amorphous block or crystalline powder. Is an amphoteric oxide. Melting point 275 °c, boiling point 465 °c. Dissolved in dilute hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate solution. Slightly soluble in cold water, soluble in 15 boiling water, insoluble in chloroform, ethanol and ether. The sublimation temperature was about 218 °c. In case of high heat, sublimation produces highly toxic gas.

  1. Direct method (oxidation roasting method): After the realgar ore is crushed to a particle size of less than 3mm, it is sent to a baking furnace and air is introduced to conduct oxidation roasting at about 550 ℃, the generated furnace gas containing dust is subjected to dust removal, condensation, gravity sedimentation, cooling crystallization at 220~250 ℃, and then electric dust removal, and the obtained solid arsenic trioxide is classified and air-separated, the arsenic trioxide product was obtained.
  2. by-product recovery method: industrially, arsenic trioxide is produced by dedusting, cooling, and trapping the generated gas by crushing and oxidizing roasting of arsenic-recoverable ore.
