| Production method | Add 1-nitro-2-acetylaminonaphthalene to sodium hydroxide solution and boil for 6-7h until no more ammonia is released. Add hot water to dissolve the generated nitronaphthol sodium salt, filter out insoluble impurities, and then acidify and cool to precipitate 1-nitro-2-naphthol with a yield of 88%-89%. |
