SULFOBETAINE - Introduction
Sulfobetaine, also known as Sulfobetaine, is an organic compound with positively charged ions and negatively charged ions. Its chemical formula is (C3H7NO3S).
Sulfobetaine have the following properties:
1. The properties of positively charged ions and negatively charged ions make them have good hydrophilicity and lipophilicity, can adjust the interfacial tension between water and oil, and have good surface activity.
2. It has a wide pH adaptability and can remain stable under acidic and alkaline conditions.
3. It has good solubility and can be dissolved in water and most organic solvents.
4. It is not easy to form foam and has no pollution to the environment and human body.
Sulfobetaine is mainly used in the following aspects:
1. surfactant: can be used as detergent, emulsifier, detergent, etc.
2. Biomedical field: It can be used as a surface modifier of biomaterials to improve biocompatibility and anti-pollution.
3. cosmetics and personal care products: can be used as facial cleanser, shampoo, conditioner, etc.
The main methods for preparing Sulfobetaine are esterification and nucleophilic substitution. Among them, the esterification method is to synthesize dimethylamine ester and then react with sulfuric acid to obtain the target product. The principle of nucleophilic substitution is through the reaction of nucleophilic reagents with ester groups, such as sodium dimethylamine and chloroacetate, to generate the target product.
