Neocupferron - Reference Information

uses sensitive reagents for measuring copper and iron.
production method dissolve 137g of 1-nitronaphthalene in 4235ml of 95% ethanol, cool to 0 ℃, pass in ammonia until distillate, and then pass in hydrogen sulfide until full of yellow ammonium sulfide crystals. Leave it under cooling for 24h, pour into a large amount of cold water, and filter out white 1-naphthalene hydroxylamine precipitation. Dissolve the base in 1500ml ether, extract and wash with water, and separate the water layer. Ammonia is introduced into the ether layer under cooling, and butyl nitrite is added dropwise at the same time (65g butyl nitrite is required for 100 g1-naphthalene hydroxylamine). After the reaction, suction filtration, wash the filter cake with ether, dissolve the filter cake in methanol, and add ether to precipitate the precipitate. Repeat this several times to get a new pure copper iron spirit.
