Name | N-octadecyl- γ- Double quaternary ammonium salt |
Synonyms | N-oct a decyl 1alkyl di quater nium salt |
Molar Mass | 469 |
Water Solubility | 易溶于水 |
Appearance | Colorless or light yellow viscous liquid |

Physical and Chemical Properties | This type of cationic surfactant contains two quaternary ammonium salt groups, which have stronger bonding and adsorption abilities on fabrics. Its compatibility with non ionic and amphoteric surfactants has also been further improved, and its water solubility has also significantly increased, resulting in stronger emulsifying power. |
Use | This product can be used as an emulsifier and also as a softening agent for fiber fabrics. |
1. Add octadecylamine and acrylonitrile in a ratio of 1:1.25 to the reactor, and catalyze the condensation reaction at (60 ± 2) ℃ for 4 hours to obtain N-octadecylpropiononitrile, with a catalyst dosage of 1%.
2. Add N-octadecylpropiononitrile and an appropriate amount of catalyst and solvent (ethanol or isopropanol) to the high-pressure kettle. After closing the lid, replace the air in the kettle with nitrogen four times, introduce hydrogen and chlorine gas, and react at 80-90 ℃ for 1-2 hours. Cool and vent to obtain the hydrogenation product N-octadecylpropylenediamine.
3. Filter and remove the catalyst from the previous product, add N-octadecylpropylenediamine to the reaction autoclave, add an appropriate amount of NaOH or Na2CO3 as the catalyst, close the lid, replace the air with nitrogen 4-5 times, raise the temperature to 60 ℃, and then introduce chloromethane (so that the molar ratio of N-octadecylpropylenediamine to chloromethane is 1:8). Conduct the quaternization reaction at a temperature of 80-90 ℃ and a pressure of 0.49-0.59 MPa, The reaction endpoint is when the pressure is maintained for 20 minutes without decreasing, and the cationic surfactant y - diquaternary ammonium salt is prepared.
This product is prohibited from mixing and stacking with anionic surfactants. Store in a cool and ventilated place.
