M-chlorobromobenzene is a reagent for the synthesis of phenols, ethers and benzofurans, and is also used for the preparation of antithrombotic drugs. |
| preparation | with M-chloroaniline as raw material, mixed with concentrated hydrobromic acid, the temperature is reduced to 0 deg C, under stirring, rapid addition of sodium nitrite aqueous solution, O-chloroaniline nitridation, the formation of diazonium salt, in the reaction process should be controlled at a temperature of not more than 10 deg C. Then the Sandmeyer reaction is used, and the catalyst cuprous bromide and hydrobromic acid are added to the reaction system to decompose the diazonium salt. The decomposition reaction is carried out at boiling temperature, M-bromochlorobenzene can be obtained by washing with water, drying to remove water and distillation under reduced pressure. |
