| arabitol | arabitol is also known as betamethasone -21 propionate, molecular formula C5H12O5, molecular weight 152.15, there are three forms. D-type: prismatic crystals obtained from ethanol aqueous solution, with sweet taste, melting point 103~104 ℃,[α]D20 +11.8 (in borax solution, C = 9.5), soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether. L-type: dendritic crystal with sweet taste, melting point 102~103 ℃,[α]D-5.4 (in borax solution), solubility is the same as D-type. DL-type: prismatic crystals obtained from 90% ethanol aqueous solution, melting point 106 ℃, soluble in 66 parts of 90% ethanol at 12 ℃. D-type is found in lichens and smut. |
