KIESERITE - Study on a new process for producing refined magnesium sulfate monohydrate by using crude magnesium

Abstract:
According to the characteristics of solubility diagram of magnesium sulfate in water, a new process for preparing refined-hydrated magnesium sulfate by using crude magnesium products produced by Yuncheng Salt Lake Field in winter was proposed, and the optimum process conditions were obtained, the crystallization of 33% magnesium sulfate solution at 180 ℃ was studied. Experiments show that compared with the traditional process, the process has the advantages of shorter process, simple operation, lower production cost and higher product purity.
