DPEPO - Introduction
Bis[2-(diphenylphosphino)phenyl] ether oxide, also known as DPEPhos, is an organic compound. Its chemical formula is C24H21OP and its molecular weight is 356.39g/mol.
DPEPhos has the following properties:
1. Appearance: colorless to yellowish solid.
2. Melting point: About 150-154 ° C.
3. Solubility: Soluble in common organic solvents, such as chloroform, dimethylformamide and dichloromethane.
DPEPhos has several applications in organic synthesis:
1. Ligand of metal catalyst: DPEPhos can coordinate with metal catalyst to form a complex, which is used to catalyze organic reactions, such as hydrogenation, coupling reaction and asymmetric catalytic reaction.
2. Transition metal catalyzed hydrogenation reaction: DPEPhos is coordinated with transition metal to form a catalyst, which is used to hydrogenate unsaturated compounds, such as olefins and carbonyl compounds.
3. Asymmetric catalytic reaction: Due to its adjustable stereo structure, DPEPhos can be used in asymmetric catalytic reaction with chiral ligands to prepare chiral organic compounds.

1. Oxidation method: DPEPhos can be prepared by oxidation of phenyl diphosphine.
2. Phenyldiphosphine direct addition method: phenyldiphosphine is directly added to fluoride or other appropriate reagents to generate DPEPhos.
