COD.IR.CL.IMES - Introduction

Chloro(1,5-cyclooctadiene)(1,5-cyclo) iridium is an organometallic compound with the chemical formula [Cp * Ir(Cl)(C8H12)] [NHC], where Cp * represents a 1,5-Cyclooctadiene substituent and NHC represents 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolylidene.

Nature:
Chloro (1,5-cycloctadiene)(1,) iridium is a colorless crystal, soluble in some organic solvents, such as acetonitrile and chloroform. It has high thermal stability and catalytic activity, and can be used as a catalyst in a variety of organic synthesis reactions.

Use:
Chloro (1,5-cycloctadiene)(1,) iridium is an important homogeneous catalyst widely used in organic synthesis reactions. It can be used to catalyze the hydrogenation of olefins, hydrosilylation of olefins, nucleophilic addition of olefins and the like. In addition, it can also be used as a light-emitting layer of a fluorescent material and a light-emitting component in an organic light-emitting diode.

Method:
Chloro(1,5-cyclo-ctadiene)(1, r) The preparation of iridium is usually carried out by metal organic chemical methods. First, Iridium chloride and 1,5-Cyclooctadiene are reacted in the presence of sodium acetate to produce a [(C8H12)IrCl]2 complex. Then, by reacting 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolylamine with methyl lithium chloride, a 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolylidene lithium derivative is obtained. Finally, the two preforms are reacted in a suitable solvent to give Chloro(1,5-cyclo-ctadiene)(1,5) iridium.
