from VIP Journal Professional Edition

Author:

Xiao , Zhu shaoxu , Yang Wei , Qiu Zhijian , liang hui , Magpie Yang

Abstract:

objective to investigate the model of rat foot swelling induced by carrageenan. Methods a certain number of carrageenan-induced rat foot swelling models were replicated, and the foot volume of rats at different time points after inflammation was measured and compared, and the effect of test environment temperature on the foot swelling degree of the model was investigated, the contents of inflammatory factors in rat foot tissues at different time points after inflammation were determined. Results The swelling degree of rat foot showed a single peak curve after the injection of carrageenan. The swelling began about 0.5 h after inflammation, reached the peak at 2.5~3.0 h, and gradually subsided after 8 h; ambient temperature 21 ℃ ~ 23... see all

CARRAGEENAN - Mechanism of carrageenan-induced tail thrombosis in rats

from Wanfang Medical

Author:

Wei Lingbo , winter plum gemcitabine , Ding shu

Abstract:

objective to reveal the mechanism of rat tail thrombus model induced by carrageenan. Methods the rats were randomly divided into normal group, model Group and aspirin group. Model Group, aspirin group with carrageenan to build the tail thrombus model, observe the length of the black tail AT different times, check the antithrombin Ⅲ(AT-Ⅲ) activity, D-dimer, the content of interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α). The length of black tail was observed. The coagulation mechanism, tissue plasminogen activator (PAI) activity and tissue plasminogen activator inhibitor (t-PA) activity were detected. Results in model Group, IL-1β was (32.54±9.26)pg/mL, fibrinogen was (4.28±2.06)g/L, and prothrombin time was (13.12±2.40)s, which were higher than those in normal group; D-dimer content was lower than the normal group. Conclusion as long as the conditions are well controlled, carrageenan is a simple and easy animal thrombosis modeling agent.

CARRAGEENAN - Introduction

Carrageenan is a mucopolysaccharide extracted from the cell wall of red algae. They are anionic linear polymers consisting of α-1,1,3,4 β-galactans with disaccharide units of one (κ), two (ι), or three (λ) sulfates. In ionic solution, κ-and ι-carrageenan self-crosslinks into a spiral structure, thus forming a rigid or flexible gel. λ-carrageenan does not form a spiral and is a non-gel. Carrageenan is used for commercialization as a thickener and stabilizer.

CARRAGEENAN - Effects of xiaochaihu decoction and its drug combination on cytokines in rat pleurisy model induced by carrageenan

from hownet

Author:

Sun Minyu , Xie Ming , Zhang Na , Eli , Wang Shouyong

Abstract:

objective to investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of xiaochaihu decoction (Bupleurum chinense, Scutellaria baicalensis, Pinellia, ginger, ginseng, licorice and jujube) and its drug combination, and to explore its possible mechanism. Methods the pleurisy model was induced by injecting 1% carrageenan 0.2ml into the thoracic cavity of rats. Each group of Chinese medicine were given xiaochaihu decoction of different drug group formula of traditional Chinese medicine (respectively according to the following composition and dosage: chaiqin 3.5g/kg, Jiang Xia 3g/kg, shencao jujube 4.5g/kg, chaiqin + Jiangxia 6.5g/kg, chaiqin + shencao jujube 8g/kg, Jiangxia + shencao jujube 7.5g/kg, the normal Group and model group were given equal volume of distilled water by gavage. Continuous administration for 5 days, 2H after the last dose, 12h after the model, pleural effusion, white blood cell count, myeloperoxidase (MPO), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and serum interleukin-8 (IL-8) levels. Results compared with the model Group, the volume of pleural effusion, the number of white blood cells in exudate of rats in each group of xiaochaihu decoction and its drug group, MPO and TNF-α levels and serum IL-8 levels were significantly decreased (P<0.05). The content of IL-1β in pleural effusion of pleurisy in chaiqin group, Jiangxia group and the whole prescription group was significantly decreased (P<0.01). Conclusion xiaochaihu decoction and its combination of drugs have significant anti-inflammatory effect, and have a certain role in the prevention and treatment of pleurisy. The chaiqin group, the whole group, Jiangxia group and shencao jujube group have better effect. Its mechanism of action may be related to the inhibition of the increase of cytokines such as TNF-α,IL-1β and IL-8, and the inhibition of leukocyte activation, infiltration and migration.

from Wanfang Medical

Author:

Renan , Mei Xuan bud , Shi Jingli , Shen Yingjun

Abstract:

objective: to study the anti-inflammatory effect of volatile oil from entophylla and its possible mechanism. Methods: carrageenan-induced acute pleurisy in rats was used to observe the effects of high-dose (0.05mL · kg-1) and low-dose (0.1 mL · kg-1) of the volatile oil from corns urinaria on acute inflammation. Results: the volatile oil of entophylla showed obvious antagonistic effect on the increase of white blood cell count in rat pleurisy model, and could significantly reduce the production of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin E2(PGE2) in the exudate of rat pleurisy, high-dose group can significantly... view all

CARRAGEENAN - Effect of liquor on thrombosis of rat tail induced by carrageenan

from hownet

Author:

, Wei Lingbo , Shi Hongxia , Li Xiao , Yin zhuhan

Abstract:

objective to observe the effect of liquor on the length of thrombus in rat tail induced by carrageenan and its effect on coagulation function and fibrinolytic function. Methods rats were randomly divided into 6 groups: Model control group, normal control group, aspirin group, liquor low, medium and high dose group, 10 rats in each group. In addition to the normal control group, the other 5 groups were used to build the model of tail thrombus with carrageenan. The length of the black tail at different times was observed, PAI,t-PA. Results after 24 and 48 hours, compared with model control group, aspirin group and low-dose liquor group, the length of black tail in high-dose liquor group was longer (P<0.05), compared with the normal control group, the PT value of liquor high dose group was significantly prolonged, P<0.01, compared with the normal control group, the PT value of liquor middle dose group was prolonged, P<0.05, compared with the model control group, the PT value of the low-dose liquor group was shortened, P<0.05; Compared with the normal control group, the FB value of the medium-dose liquor group was significantly increased, P<0.01, the rest of the group compared with the normal control group FB value increased, P<0.05; Liquor high, middle dose group compared with the normal control group PAI value increased, P<0.05. Conclusion This experiment shows that medium and large amounts of liquor can enhance the role of carrageenan-Induced Thrombosis in rats, a small amount of liquor and Oral Aspirin on carrageenan-induced rat tail thrombosis had no significant effect.
