In addition to hydroxyl and acetyl groups, the CAB molecule also contains butyryl groups, and its physicochemical properties are related to the content of the three groups. The melting point and tensile strength increase with the increase of the content of acetyl group, and the compatibility with plasticizer and the flexibility of the film decrease with the increase of acetyl group content in a certain range. Solubility in polar solvents increases with increasing hydroxyl content. The increase of butyryl group content in CAB molecule reduces the density of CAB and expands the range of dissolution. CAB has a good resistance to moisture, UV light, cold, flexible, transparent, electrical insulation and other characteristics, with the resin and high boiling point plasticizer has good compatibility. Plastic surface gloss, excellent processability. Due to the different content of butyryl group can be made into different properties of plastic film base, film and coating.

- application in the plastic industry: according to the different content of butyryl group, can be made into a variety of different uses of plastic products, such as molded products with a telephone base, car steering wheel, tool handle, toys, pen, etc., can also be used as water station, oil field, natural gas and factory water, gas transmission pipeline, thin products have film base, aerial photography film base, film products have food protective film, oil-resistant products protective film, skin wound protection film, etc.
- Application in coating industry: it is mainly used as protective coating and decorative coating in coating industry. Mainly used in the following areas. (1) transparent metal varnish with it can protect the building of aluminum, copper, silver and other metal surfaces from oxidation loss of gloss, corrosion. (2) the varnish for plastic products is coated on the surfaces of acetate, acrylic ester, vinyl resin, nitrocellulose and other plastic products, which can make them have beautiful luster and are not easy to age. (3) the varnish used for wood is used as the surface coating of furniture, floor, bamboo curtain and wallboard to improve the service life and make the surface glossy and beautiful. (4) the coating and impregnation of the paper is used for the surface coating of the packaging paper bag, which plays a role of water resistance and reinforcement. It is also used for exterior coating of wallpaper, advertising paper, label paper, cardboard, cosmetic paper, packaging boxes, etc. (5) the coating and impregnation of fabric such as aircraft cover cloth, car and motorcycle cover cloth, shade cloth, shower curtain, waterproof surface coating, and can be used for electrical belt, marine rope, impregnation of fire protection belts, etc. The heat seal adhesive with it can bond paper, cloth, plastic and aluminum products. It can be used to coat the flash bulb, sign glass, sign plate, mirror and so on.
