APG - Introduction
The product is 50% aqueous solution, R = C8 ~ C14, colorless to light yellow transparent liquid. It has a soft effect on the skin, low irritation, and a good conditioning effect on the hair. Good foaming and thickening properties, high temperature resistance, high concentration of strong acid, strong alkali and electrolyte. HLB value 13-15. PH value (10% aqueous solution):11.5-12.5; Viscosity (20 ℃ mPa.s):1000-2500 is often used in shampoo, bath lotion, facial cleanser and hand sanitizer. Industrial hard surface cleaning, temperate-resistant and alkali-resistant scouring agent for textile industry, foaming agent for petroleum exploitation; Emulsifier, dispersant, synergist, etc. of agricultural preparations.

| Introduction | Decyl glucoside is a novel nonionic surfactant alkyl glucoside (APG). Starch-based surfactants have become one of the major research topics of domestic and foreign scholars since the 80 s, and alkyl polyglycoside is one of the most active research field and development focus. |
| preparation | a four-necked bottle equipped with a stirrer, condenser, and vacuum system was charged with 22.5g(0.125mol) of glucose, 0.5 ~ 1.0g of p-toluenesulfonic acid and the appropriate amount of catalyst CSH-2, then add 70 ~ 100g of alcohol, stir evenly, vacuum to the pressure of 4000Pa, rapid temperature rise to 90~110 ℃, keep about 1.5 ~ 2.5h until the mixture in the bottle changes from white turbidity to clear liquid, aging for 0.5h, collect distillate at the same time, cool down to room temperature, adjust pH value to 8~9 with NaOH solution with concentration of 30%, then reduce pressure to 1066.6, raise temperature to 110~140 ℃, recover unreacted decanol, 40-60g of solid crude product was obtained. The solid crude product was dissolved and decolorized, distilled and vacuum dried to refine, and finally prepared into a Decyl glucoside solution with a concentration of 65%, and the product yield was ≥ 93.5%. |
