N,N'-dipropylurea is an organic compound with the chemical formula C8H16N2O and a molecular weight of 160.23g/mol. It is a colorless to pale yellow crystal or crystalline solid.

Nature:
- N,N'-dipropylurea is a solid at room temperature and pressure, and its melting point is about 67-69°C.
-It has low solubility in solvents, soluble in alcohols, ethers and ketones, insoluble in water.
-It has low volatility and solid stability.

Use:
- N,N'-dipropylurea are commonly used as solvents and intermediates for organic synthesis reactions and catalyst preparation.
-It can be used as a reaction solvent for coatings, resins and polymers.
-In the preparation of urea ethers, N,N'-dipropylurea are also used.

Preparation Method:
- N,N'-dipropylurea are generally synthesized by the reaction of urea and acetone. Specific steps are as follows:
1. Put urea and acetone into the reaction vessel according to a certain molar ratio.
2. The reaction is carried out at an appropriate temperature, and it is often necessary to add a catalyst.
3. After completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was cooled and crystallized to obtain N, N′-dipropylurea.
4. Further purification process includes crystallization recrystallization and solvent extraction.
