Tetramethylbiphosphine disulfide(Tetramethylbiphosphine disulfide) is an organic sulfide with the chemical formula [(CH3)2P]2S2. It is a solid and has a special smell.
Tetramethylbiphosphine disulfide can be used as additives in lithium-ion batteries to improve battery performance and cycle stability. It can also be used as a transition metal ligand and as a ligand in catalysts.
The preparation method of this compound can be obtained by reacting tetramethyldiphosphinane (Tetramethylbiphosphine) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in a suitable solvent. The reaction process needs to be carried out under an inert atmosphere, so that the product prepared is of higher purity.
