Cyanopropyldimethyldimethylaminosilane is an organosilicon compound. Its chemical formula is (C6H15N2Si), commonly abbreviated as CMDDS. The following is a description of the nature, use, method and safety information of CMDDS:

-Appearance: Cyanopropyldimethyldimethylaminosilane is a colorless to slightly yellow low-viscosity liquid.

Use:
- CMDDS is widely used in the preparation of silicone rubber and silicone rubber, as a crosslinking agent, coupling agent and adhesive. In order to enhance the adhesion, wear resistance and chemical resistance of silica gel, CMDDS is often used to improve the adhesion of silicone rubber/silica gel to glass, metal, plastic and other materials.
-In addition, CMDDS can also be used in the fields of electronic component packaging materials, coatings and paints to improve the temperature resistance, adhesion and chemical resistance of materials.
Preparation Method:
- CMDDS can be obtained by reacting cyanopropyldimethylchlorosilane with dimethylacetamide. The reaction conditions are usually heating and addition of a base as a catalyst.
Safety Information:
- CMDDS should be stored in a cool, dry environment, away from fire and oxidizing agents. Avoid contact with strong acids, strong bases and other incompatible compounds.
-Personal protective equipment such as goggles, gloves and protective clothing should be worn during use to prevent contact with skin and eyes.
-In case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water for 30 minutes and seek medical help.
-Do not touch this compound while eating, smoking and drinking, and avoid inhaling its volatiles.
