4-(2-pyriridyl)-2-(trimethoxysilylmethyl)butane-1-thiol, also known as 4-(2-pyridyl)-2-(trimethoxysilylmethyl) butanethiol, is an organosilicon compound. The following is a description of the properties, uses, preparation and safety information of the compound:

1. 2-pyridyl bromide and trimethoxysilyltrimethylchlorosilane were reacted under alkaline conditions to obtain 4-(2-pyriridyl)-2-(trimethoxy methyl)butane-1-thiol.
