| Production method | It is obtained by the reaction of lactam and dimethyl sulfate. The caprolactam is dissolved in benzene, heated and refluxed, and dimethyl sulfate is added dropwise under stirring. After adding, reflux reaction for 16h, cooling, washing with 50% potassium carbonate solution, dividing the upper organic layer, drying with anhydrous calcium chloride overnight. After filtering out calcium chloride, benzene is distilled under normal pressure, and N-methyl caprolactam is collected by decompression distillation in drought. The yield was 68.8%. |
