The cyclization reaction of salicylaldehyde and propionic anhydride is carried out in the presence of sodium propionate and iodine tablets. After reacting at 140 ℃ for 2H, the water and propionic acid are distilled at 120 ℃, and then heated to 220-230 ℃ for 4H, the reaction was poured into ice water and the crystals were cooled. Water was then added to dissolve, and propionic acid and iodine were removed with sodium sulfonate to pH 7-8. The crude product is obtained by cooling and crystallizing, and the final product is obtained by recrystallization from ethanol. |
