| Uses | 2-chloro-4-bromophenol is an intermediate of the ternary asymmetric organophosphorus insecticide profenofos. Used as an intermediate for the pesticide profenofos, and can also be used in other organic synthesis |
| Production method | The preparation method is to obtain 2-chloro-4-bromophenol by bromination of o-chlorophenol. The o-chlorophenol and solvent are quantitatively pumped into the enamel reaction kettle. Under the conditions of stirring, negative pressure and cooling, a certain amount of bromine is slowly added into the kettle. The temperature is controlled at 8~12 ℃. After the bromine is added, the reaction is continued at normal temperature for 2 hours, and then maintained at normal temperature. The quantitative 30% alkali solution is slowly added to neutralize the reactant. After stirring for 0.5 hours, the material is pumped to the layering device and left for more than 4 hours, the lower layer is 55% ~ 60% 2-chloro-4-bromophenol sodium aqueous solution, acidification to obtain 2-chloro-4-bromophenol. |
