| Production method | It is obtained by chlorination of 2-methylpyridine. Add 2-methylpyridine and anhydrous carbon tetrachloride to the reaction pot, stir and mix, add dried sodium carbonate, heat to 58-60 ℃, start to pass chlorine under light, keep the temperature at 60-65 ℃, and finish with chlorine at about 6h. Stir for 0.5h, cool to 30 ℃, add water to dissolve sodium carbonate, adjust pH to 8-9 with liquid alkali, and let stand to remove the water layer. The carbon tetrachloride layer was extracted with 20% hydrochloric acid to obtain 2-methylpyridine hydrochloride [6959-47-3] with a melting point of 128-129 ℃. |
