Preparation

200 mg PGA copolymer (1.55 moles of glutamic acid 1eq) was added to a round neck flask.) Suspended in 10mL of water. 128.7mg(0.465mmol,0.3 equivalent) DMTMM was obtained, chloride was added and dissolved in 5mL of water. Add 2-[2-(2-azidoethoxy) ethoxy] ethylamine (0.93 mmol, 0.6 equivalents) for 10 minutes. The pH was adjusted to 8 by adding some 1MNaHCO3. Stir at room temperature to allow the reaction to proceed overnight. Because all by-products are water soluble, ultrafiltration (membrane thickness of 3.000Mw) or size exclusion chromatography with SephadexG25 column. A colorless amorphous solid was obtained and freeze-dried with a yield of 80-90%.
