This compound is then reacted with cuprous bromide to convert the nitro group to Bromo and chloro groups by a displacement reaction to give 2-bromo-3-chloro-5-nitrothionobenzene. Finally, the compound is subjected to alkali-catalyzed denitration reaction to obtain.
