Use:
- EFQ is a broad-spectrum fungicide especially used in agriculture against downy mildew and other bacterial diseases.
-It is also used as an intermediate for the synthesis of new drugs and pesticides.

Method:
The synthesis of-EFQ is usually obtained by reacting ethyl sulfide with ethyl 4-hydroxyquinoline-3-carboxylate.
-First, ethyl sulfide and 4-hydroxyquinoline-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester are mixed and heated to react.
-After the reaction is completed, the product is purified by distillation or extraction.
