13338-49-3 - Introduction
2-Chloromethylimidazoline hydrochloride, chemical formula C5H6ClN3.HCl, is an organic compound.
Nature:
1. Appearance: colorless crystal or powder.
2. melting point: about 150-160 degrees Celsius.
3. Solubility: Soluble in water, ethanol and other organic solvents.
Use:
1. drug intermediates: 2-chloromethylimidazoline hydrochloride can be used to synthesize a variety of drugs, such as antiviral drugs, anticancer drugs.
2. chromatographic analysis: can be used as ion pair reagent for liquid chromatography.
Preparation Method:
2-Chloromethylimidazoline hydrochloride is usually synthesized by the following steps:
1.2-amino methyl imidazoline and hydrochloric acid are reacted to generate 2-amino methyl imidazoline hydrochloride.
2. The hydrochloride obtained reacts with thionyl chloride to generate 2-chloromethylimidazoline hydrochloride.
3. Pure 2-chloromethylimidazoline hydrochloride is obtained by crystallization or other purification methods.
