1303-28-2 - Reference Information

EPA chemical information Information provided by: ofmpub.epa.gov (external link)
solubility in water (g/100ml) dissolved grams per 100ml of water: 65.8g/20 ℃
Use Used in arsenate preparation, dye and printing industry, etc., and can be used as insecticide
production method put 100g of arsenic trioxide into a round bottom flask, add 100mL of concentrated nitric acid, and then heat. When brown nitrogen oxide gas is no longer produced, the solution is transferred to another flask by decantation, 50mL of concentrated nitric acid is added and heated, and evaporated below 300 ℃ to dry. The evaporation residue is soaked and dissolved with as little water as possible. After filtering with a glass filter, it is gradually dehydrated by heating at 250~300 ℃: if the temperature is too high, it will release oxygen and decompose to become arsenic trioxide, so attention must be paid. As the dehydration progresses, white powdery residues appear, which are completely cured and stored in a dryer containing phosphorus pentoxide or concentrated sulfuric acid.
