Diacetic acid [(R)-( )-2,2 '-bis (di-p-tolylphosphonyl)-1,1'-binaphthyl] ruthenium (II), is an organic compound containing a rhenium ion. The following is a description of the properties, uses, preparation and safety information of the compound:

-Diacetic acid [(R)-( )-2,2 '-bis (di-p-toluenophosphonyl)-1,1'-binaphthyl] ruthenium (II) is mainly used as a catalyst in organic chemical synthesis. It can be used to catalyze asymmetric hydrogenation, asymmetric thioetherification and asymmetric boron alcohol synthesis reactions.
-The compound can also be used for the preparation of metal organic frameworks (MOFs) and fluorescent materials.
Method:
The preparation of-diacetic acid [(R)-( )-2,2 '-bis (di-p-toluenophosphonyl)-1,1'-binaphthyl] ruthenium (II) is generally achieved by selective reduction of cis-trans isomers. First, xylene phosphonorhenium chloride and (S)-(+)-2,2 '-binaphthalene diol ligand are reacted to obtain an isomer mixture, and then the target compound is selectively obtained by reduction reaction.
