(+)-WARFARIN - Introduction
(R)-( )-Warfarin is a chiral compound with the chemical name (R)-4-hydroxypropiophenone-(R)-2,3-epoxybutanone. Its chemical formula is C19H16O4. It is a white crystalline solid, almost insoluble in water at room temperature. The compound exists in two enantiomers, with (R)-(+)-Warfarin having a higher biological activity than (S)-(-)-Warfarin.
