TRIS(2-(ISOPROPYLAMINO)ETHYL)AMINE - Introduction
TRIS(2-(ISOPROPYLAMINO)ETHYL)AMINE, scientific name N,N-bis(2-aminoethyl)-1,2-propanediamine, often abbreviated as TETA. The following is a description of the nature, use, formulation and safety information of TETA:
Nature:
1. Appearance: colorless to light yellow liquid.
2. Solubility: Soluble in water and alcohol solvents, miscible with most organic compounds.
3. Melting Point: About -30 ℃.
4. Boiling point: About 285 ℃.
5. Density: about 1.03 g/cm.
Use:
1. As a chemical intermediate, used in the synthesis of surfactants, Amine polyurethane, preservatives, etc.
2. As a metal complexing agent, it is used for chelating and extracting metal ions.
3. Used in coatings, inks, dyes, cosmetics and other industries, as diluents, dispersants, solvents, etc.
Method:
TETA can be prepared by the condensation reaction of 1,2-propanediamine and isopropylamine. First, 1,2-propanediamine and isopropylamine are heated and reacted in the presence of an appropriate amount of solvent catalyst, and then purified by distillation, crystallization and other processes to obtain the target product.
Safety Information:
1. TETA is irritating and should avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear appropriate protective equipment such as gloves, goggles, etc.
2. In the use of the process should pay attention to fire and explosion-proof measures, away from heat sources and open flames.
3. TETA contains combustible gas and should be stored in a cool and ventilated place, away from fire and oxidant.
4. If a large amount of TETA is taken by mistake or inhaled, seek medical treatment immediately.
5. Detailed safety information and operating instructions should refer to the relevant Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
