Prostaglandins Intermediate - Introduction

Methyl (5Z)-7-[5-oxo-3-[(triethylsilyl) oxy]-1-cyclopenten-1-yl]-5-heptenoate is an organic compound whose structure contains two carbon chains, cyclopentene and heptene.

Nature:
Methyl (5Z)-7-[5-oxo-3-[(triethylsilyl) oxy]-1-cyclopenten-1-yl]-5-heptenoate is a colorless liquid with an aromatic taste. It has a low boiling point and flash point and is soluble in non-polar solvents such as petroleum ether and carbon disulfide.

Use:
